- It is taken very seriously by Schools, Universities, Publishers, and other authorities.
- It can get you kicked out of a College or University, or even sued!

Plagiarism comes in many forms.

Here are some examples:
- Forgetting to add quotation marks (" ") when you add a quote.
- Presenting someone else’s idea or argument, without referencing them (even by accident). Make sure you always include an in-text citation AND a reference list item for the ideas/facts you present.
- Using your own work from another assignment, without referencing yourself and the old assignment.
- Using an image, graph, or some other representation without providing a reference (including in-text).
- Using an expressed idea from an article, and passing it off as your own by simply rearranging the words a bit. (This one is a common mistake!)
