Aemilia Lanyer (1569–1645) Poet noted for being one of the first Englishwomen to publish a volume of original verse.
Ben Jonson (1572 - 1637)One of the most eminent playwrights and poets of the 1600s. Perhaps the most important one, next to Shakespeare.
He popularised the comedy of humours genre and is best known for his satirical plays Every Man in His Humour , Volpone, or The Fox, The Alchemist, and Bartholomew Fair .
