Five schools from Sibiu in Romania, Eisenstadt in Austria, Penzberg in Germany, Langon in France and Sandnes in Norway have gained support from the Erasmus+ program to work on the project "LearnAIR/ TeachAIR: Awareness - Integration - Respect"
The background of this project is the current refugee crisis in Europe and how schools deal with new students in our schools.
arrival of the partners
We went to the Bassin d'Arcachon for ice-breaking games on the Dune du Pylat on the morning.
Then we went to Bordeaux for a visit of the Nouvelle Aquitaine's capital, that is a World Heritage site of UNESCO.
We had a welcome breakfast at Jean Moulin school, with local authorities, then a visit of the school.
First workshop, with Mrs de Gabory and the UNESCO club of Langon.
We discovered some games for learning the first words of french.
Then the partners have presented their country/region/school, their national symbols/values and the objects they received from another partner.
Then students visited the city of Langon, while the coordinators and headmasters had
presentation of current situations and challenges in countries/schools and
debated on practices with professionals of french structures (CASNAV, COP, UNESCO club)
We went to the Region parliament in Bordeaux, for a presentation by Mrs Harribey (now a senator) of the actions with Europe and Education.
On the afternoon we discovered a special class for foreign students. It's important for them not to forget their mother tongue.
We had a workshop on the differences between inclusion and assimilation
Then free time with the host families !
Time for the final work
We had to prepare a presentation on inclusion/assimilation and to write a European constitution based on common values.
After some games on the sport field it was time for the Farewell party, with the orchestra of M. Roulet !
Lot of tears for the departure of the partners, but many promises to see us again !
