MESH is a source of inclusion designed to bring together high school students in both general education and special education. Students apply as freshmen and sophomores from Tulsa area high schools. They then spend the next three years working on projects together in their groups which are called “cohorts”. The goals of MESH are to foster a better school environment and to improve the quality of the relationships between students with special needs and their peers. The primary objectives are to create an inclusive social environment for students with special needs in the larger student body, as well as educate the student body about students with special needs.

Here in Tulsa, our group participates in at least one race per month. We provide the running chairs and the runners and we make it possible for people with disabilities to participate in running events. We welcome Riders of all ages and with all types of disabilities and we are always looking for more Angel Runners too. My contact info is below!

Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is an educational and motivational week held every summer on a university campus. Students will work in small and large groups, create their own personal leadership plans and work to identify resources that can help them achieve their goals. Fun activities are included as part of the method to teach them about leading a well-rounded life. Students selected to attend YLF will spend a thrilling day at our state's capitol where they will meet various state and national leaders in addition to government officials. Students will also conduct mock debates and listen to speakers like themselves address topics, such as: disability rights laws; innovations in technology; community resources; legislative processes; and much more!
