Since 2015, Charles Page High School Troupe 8250 has been an active part of the International Thespian Society

What is Thespian Society?

ITS is an honor society for high school and middle school students with over 140,000 student members world wide. Founded in 1929, ITS honors student achievement in theatre. Thespians earn points for induction through hours accrued through our program and productions, service projects, and competitions. Membership rank is not only based on achievement in the dramatic arts, but also character and scholarship.

Thespian Pledge:

I promise to uphold the aims and ideals of the International Thespian Society. I am a student of theatre and excellence is my ideal. I promise to perform my part well as I can; to accept praise and criticism with grace; to cooperate with my fellow thespians and work for the good of the troupe; and to share my love of theatre.

Thespian Motto: "Act well your part; there all the honor lies." - Alexander Pope's Essay on Man

Opportunities through Thespian Society:

  • SERVICE - CPHS Drama hosts up to four community service projects a year. Projects have included: Stars for Veterans - in cooperation with Sand Springs American Legion. Trick or Treat for Kids to Eat for Sand Springs Community Services Fill the Sock penny drive for Animal Rescue of Sand Springs

  • COMPETITION - We participate in both Oklahoma Thespian Festival each spring and the International Thespian Festival each summer. These festivals provide not only competitive events, but also, college recruitment and scholarships, training workshops, skill building, and interaction with Thespian troupes from other parts of Oklahoma and the nation.

  • LEADERSHIP - Our troupe officers lead troupe and program business. Officers plan and promote the season, develop service projects, mentor our younger students, coordinate fundraising, oversee front of house and pre-show responsibilities, and act as ambassadors for our program. Students are also given opportunities to run for higher offices in Oklahoma Thespians and International Thespians. This year, we are proud to have Alexis Chidester as a state level Student Thespian Officer in Training.
