The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented by the Board of Education to up to six volunteers who have gone above and beyond to serve their schools, fellow parents, and students.
The six awards will include one awardee for each of the five board member sub-districts and one districtwide chosen by our student board members. The recipients of the awards will each receive a monetary gift that will be presented at a special recognition ceremony on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Patrick Henry High School. Previous recipients are not eligible.
Each nomination must be submitted by the site principal with a one-page letter of recommendation describing how the nominees work aligns with the following criteria under LCAP Goal 5: Family and Community Engagement with Highly Regarded Neighborhood Schools that Serve Students, Families, and Communities:

Meaningful Student Learning Impact: Linked to Student Learning Cognition and Confidence
