The Clairemont School Week At A Glance (SWAG) is intended to provide students, staff, and families with timely information about upcoming events and important announcements for the coming week. Check out all the wonderful things happening at CHS next week.
Your CHS Admin Team
Dear CHS students and families,
I could not be more excited to be writing to you with information about our Phase 2 reopening plan and a return to in-person learning for our students. As you know, SDUSD has cleared students and staff to return to campus to engage in in-person learning starting Monday, April 12. We deeply appreciate your adaptability to these plans and want to keep you well informed as we approach our next phase of reopening. Please be sure to review the attachment below as it contains important information you will want to consider when completing the updated surveys (one for CHS and one for SDUSD) regarding your preference around returning to school. The surveys are linked at the bottom of the attached communication. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and I look forward to seeing your students back on campus soon.

Principal Williams
Every athlete on Clairemont’s campus has the ability to be tested for COVID every Friday from 12-3. Red, Orange and Yellow tier sports who are at a higher risk of contracting and spreading COVID are highly recommended to complete this free testing every week. It is very likely that Unified will make this mandatory for all student-athletes who are playing in any of the tiers listed above. Right now Football and Water Polo are our only mandated every week testers but again this is subject to change.
Please complete the ROI and UCSD Consent and email a PDF copy to either anowak@sandi.net or alopez-nusser@sandi.net
The instructions provided are easy to follow steps to create your MyChart account through UCSD and how to create an appointment on our testing day. For your first testing confirmation we will need a photo of confirmation(either a screenshot or photo) These are “soft appointment times” which means that if you are unable to make it at your exact time that is acceptable as long as you make it to your appointment within reason.
Covid-19 hasn’t stopped the CHS Theatre Club from putting on some fabulous productions. In the Fall, 23 students (and a few family members) worked together to produce their first online production. The virtual production of Everyone Gets Eaten By Sharks was a huge success and we are happy to announce their Spring production of A Lighter Shade of Noir.
In this fabulously funny and high styling take on film, A Lighter Shade of Noir follows Trent Trowel; your typical gumshoe. Searching the mean streets for crimes to solve and dames to fall for. He joins some of the world’s most famous detectives at the International PD gala. There’s Shirley Holmes, Jean Louie Phillip Eustache… and Aunt Beatrice. But is this just an innocent gala? Will the world’s most dastardly villains foil them with a fiendish master plan? Will Aunt Beatrice ever get an English muffin? Everything is not what it seems.
A Lighter Shade of Noir will be streaming on:
Tickets can be purchased here:

Dear Freshmen Boys,
Do you like Basketball? Soccer? How about Hockey? Maybe Football? Well, you're in luck because Clairemont's Boys Lacrosse is in need of athletes to help build our program and we are taking all skill levels!
We have everything you need to play and all you need to do is show up in the cul-de-sac any weekday at 4pm (with cleats or running shoes, athletic clothes, your own water bottle, and a breathable mask).
Please ensure you are cleared through athletic clearance and tell Mr. Nowak you are playing boys lacrosse. If you have any questions or want to discuss lacrosse, please reach out to Coach Matt at clairemontlax@gmail.com. See you soon!
Calling All Senior Artists: We want you to help design a backdrop for Senior Graduation. We hope to select four winners. Final backdrops will be pained on 4’x8’ sheets of plywood, and we can deliver this to your home if you prefer to make it there. But first, submit your design, or your questions to Ms. Moore at mmoore.sandi.net, and maybe you will be one of the winners!

It is the mission of the CHS athletics program to teach our student-athletes principles that will guide them for the rest of their lives. CHS athletics isn't just about better athletes, but better people. That is why we are so excited to launch our new CHS Player's Creed (see below). In collaboration with the CHS Athletic Leadership council and various stakeholders, the CHS Player’s Creed was developed to outline what we believe it means to be a CHIEF. Every student participating in athletics at CHS, as well as their parent/guardian will be required to sign the CHS Student-Athlete Contract which states the following:
As a student-athlete at Clairemont High School you have the privilege of being part of a memorable and life changing experience. With this privilege comes great responsibility. Therefore, it is the expectation of the CHS admin team and Athletic Director that all who participate in athletics actively work to model character and integrity of the highest quality in the classroom, on the court/pool/field, and in our community. By signing this contract, you agree to strive to live a life worthy of emulating by exhibiting Courage, Humility, Integrity, Endurance, and Focus in all that you do.
