SHOUT OUTS & SCHOOL INFO

CHS WANTS YOUR FEEDBACK

The CalSCHLS system was created by the California Department of Education (CDE) in 1997 to efficiently and cost-effectively provide school districts and their partner communities with quality local data which can be used to improve student academic performance and social-emotional, behavioral, and physical health of all youth. It assesses key indicators linked to success in school, career, and life. The majority of districts in California now use CalSCHLS data as Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) indicators.

There are three surveys that are used in SDUSD:

  • California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS)

  • California School Staff Survey (CSSS)

  • California School Parent Survey (CSPS)

These surveys play an important role in allowing students, staff, and families to share their thoughts on the types of tools and resources CHS should work to add to our academic program. CHS is asking that ALL parents complete the California School Parent Survey (CSPS) by March 25, 2022. Parents can access the California School Parent Survey at the link below:

Parent: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wed/ts/cm1n

Students will have an opportunity to complete the survey at school. If you have any questions regarding the survey or need any additional assistance, please reach out to Principal Williams at ewilliams4@sandi.net.

2022-23 NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND BUDGET PRIORITIES: PARENT/GUARDIAN INPUT

Parents/Guardians, in preparation for our 2022-23 budget development, we are requesting your input regarding the needs of our site that will help inform future budgeting conversations and decision-making processes. The site will use information from this needs assessment to develop budgets and strategies for the 2022-23 school year. All surveys received will be reviewed by the site. The School Site Council (SSC) will review priorities to determine the final distribution of Title I funds.

Your time and input are appreciated as we consider our budgeting needs for the 2021-22 school year.

Please complete this form by Monday, February 7th at 3:00 pm.

SUMMER EXPERIENCE

Dear San Diego Unified Family,

San Diego Unified will once again offer all students a summer of learning and joy with free classes, free camps and free enrichment programs. Last year, more than 30,000 students took part in the program! Sign up is starting for the academic portion of the program, so please take a look at some of the programs available. Remember that all classes are taught by highly qualified and trained San Diego Unified educators. This is a great chance for your student(s) to continue learning over the summer and extend their education. Both academic and enrichment opportunities at No Cost to families throughout the city.

The enrollment/registration window for the Summer of 2022 is now open for ANY interested student. Enrollment/registration will be processed by the district office. The last day to enroll is Monday, February 28, 2022. All applications received after the enrollment window closes will be considered based on space availability.

Students enrolled in the summer experience will remain in their current grade level. (i.e., Current 5th grade students will remain in 5th grade during summer, current 8th grade students will remain in 8th grade during summer, etc.).

*If a student becomes eligible for ESY after the enrollment deadline of February 28, they can still enroll/register for Extended School Year (ESY).
