CHS LOOKING FOR GUEST SPEAKERS FOR ANNUAL 9th GRADE GUEST SPEAKER WEEK

Dear Clairemont High Supporter,

Do you know someone who has a career they love and a passion to tell people about it! Do you know a dynamic speaker who can inspire young audiences? Yes? Well then we need YOU to help us find speaker volunteers to engage a class of our freshman students at Clairemont High School!

CHS is hosting a new annual event the week of December 6-10 that we are calling "Guest Speaker Week" for all of our 9th graders in their Freshman Foundations classes. Staff will schedule engaging volunteer speakers each day of the week to inspire 9th grade students by allowing them to hear from various career professionals aligned to their academy-specific industry field. Please see below for some quick details and links to registration and more information!

QUICK FACTS:

*Total of 28 volunteer speakers needed in the fields of Business, Information Technology, Medical Sciences, and Engineering.

*Guest Speakers present live to 9th grade classrooms for 45 minutes about their career using our Guest Speaker Guidelines

*There are scheduled time slots according to industry field and classes available. Times vary. Use our Guest Speaker Registration Form to see exact times available during the school day.

*All presentations take place at Clairemont HIgh School 4150 Ute Drive, SD 92108

CLAIREMONT COMMUNITY OF SCHOOLS (CCoS)

Clairemont Community of Schools are meetings in which parents and staff from all 5 feeder elementary schools, Marston and Clairemont High School discuss topics like K-12 alignment, district updates, enrollment, marketing and other items brought forth to the committee. The purpose of the Clairemont Community of Schools Committee is to assemble Clairemont Cluster staff, parents and community members to discuss information that will ultimately improve the Cluster’s programs and presence in the Community. Area Superintendents, principals and a SDUSD Board Trustee often attend these meetings.

In order to adhere to the health and safety guidelines set forth by the San Diego Unified School District, the CCoS meetings for the 2021-2022 school year will be held via Zoom. The Zoom link along with the dates and times of the meetings are listed below.

For this blood drive CHS will be handing out a $14 voucher for the broken yolk cafe and those who donate can also apply for a scholarship as well. Seniors who donate now and in May will also get a red cord for graduation.

CHS COUNSELING GOOGLE CLASSROOMS

The CHS Counseling Staff has created grade level Google Classrooms to provide students with resources and supports during Online Learning. Although students were automatically enrolled in these classrooms based on their grade level, please have your child check their Google Classroom suite to be sure they are able to access this valuable resource.
