The Clairemont High School Yearbook Staff is committed to telling the story of the 2020-2021 school year, and it wouldn't be complete without each and every student’s photo! We've teamed up with Balfour to provide an easy way to submit your portrait for inclusion in the yearbook. Since Seniors are scheduling their portraits with LifeTouch on their own, there is no need for Seniors to complete this process with Balfour. We are asking that all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors complete this process to ensure that their photo is included in the yearbook. You should have received an email from Balfour with a personalized link and information on how to submit your photo. Photos due no later than November13, 2020.
If you have questions regarding this process please reach out to Ms. Heidi Fulton (hfulton@sandi.net) at your earliest convenience.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why am I being asked to submit a portrait photo?
Due to local mandates, we are unable to gather yearbook portraits as we have in past years. This easy tool helps you upload, crop and submit a picture of your students directly to the yearbook staff. Your portrait will appear in the grade section of the 2021 yearbook.
What tips should I consider before submitting my portrait?
We're looking for a simple, classic headshot image of your student. The best photos are those with neutral, simple backgrounds with space above the head and shoulders for ample cropping. Ideal images are those taken in a vertical manner with no other people in the photo. Be sure your photo meets all school dress code guidelines for inclusion in the book.
Thanks!
Clairemont Yearbook Staff
P.S. - We put together this handy guide to walk through the steps for submitting your student's photo.
The CHS Foundation is challenging the Clairemont Community to make a Chieftain Pledge and help support the students and staff of CHS.
The Covid-19 crisis is a reminder, in so many ways, of the interconnected, interdependent world we inhabit, and how critical collaboration and creativity are needed to address today’s challenges and support each other. While Clairemont High School remains closed due to Covid-19, and all CHS sports, events and programs are currently on hold, our volunteer work continues to support our amazing students, our fabulous school, and our local Clairemont community - in new, creative and virtual ways. Now, more than ever, we are devoted to our students, their enrichment, and their future success by being prepared to fund grants, sponsorships, scholarships and so much more when the time to reopen our doors arrives! Check back with us often to see what fun activities we have planned during the closure to engage our students and community!

It is the mission of the CHS athletics program to teach our student-athletes principles that will guide them for the rest of their lives. CHS athletics isn't just about better athletes, but better people. That is why we are so excited to launch our new CHS Player's Creed (see below). In collaboration with the CHS Athletic Leadership council and various stakeholders, the CHS Player’s Creed was developed to outline what we believe it means to be a CHIEF. Every student participating in athletics at CHS, as well as their parent/guardian will be required to sign the CHS Student-Athlete Contract which states the following:
As a student-athlete at Clairemont High School you have the privilege of being part of a memorable and life changing experience. With this privilege comes great responsibility. Therefore, it is the expectation of the CHS admin team and Athletic Director that all who participate in athletics actively work to model character and integrity of the highest quality in the classroom, on the court/pool/field, and in our community. By signing this contract, you agree to strive to live a life worthy of emulating by exhibiting Courage, Humility, Integrity, Endurance, and Focus in all that you do.
