Your CHS Admin Team
The CHS Foundation is challenging the Clairemont Community to make a Chieftain Pledge and help support the students and staff of CHS.
The Covid-19 crisis is a reminder, in so many ways, of the interconnected, interdependent world we inhabit, and how critical collaboration and creativity are needed to address today’s challenges and support each other. While Clairemont High School remains closed due to Covid-19, and all CHS sports, events and programs are currently on hold, our volunteer work continues to support our amazing students, our fabulous school, and our local Clairemont community - in new, creative and virtual ways. Now, more than ever, we are devoted to our students, their enrichment, and their future success by being prepared to fund grants, sponsorships, scholarships and so much more when the time to reopen our doors arrives! Check back with us often to see what fun activities we have planned during the closure to engage our students and community!
Read more about the Chieftain pledge HERE and on the CHS Foundation Website.

Great news CHS students and families,
On Monday, November 9, SDUSD high schools were notified by San Diego Unified and the Department of Interscholastic Athletics of an approved plan to bring student-athletes back to campus to engage in voluntary conditioning activities prior to the start of the 2020-2021 athletic season. In an effort to remain consistent with the district’s clear parameters for health and safety, this proposal is based on guidance from the California Department of Public Health Guidance for Youth Sports.
All athletes that wish to participate in this pre-conditioning program are asked to review the safety procedures that were presented on November 12 during our Pre-Season Conditioning Meeting. A recording of this meeting can be found at the link below:
Students and families may also access a copy of the PowerPoint Presentation and the communication that went out to all students and families below:
We look forward to welcoming our student athletes back to our outdoor facilities in a safe and healthy manner. If you have any questions concerning Pre-Season conditioning, please be sure to contact CHS Athletic Director, Mr. Alfie Nowak (anowak@sandi.net) at your convenience.
It is the mission of the CHS athletics program to teach our student-athletes principles that will guide them for the rest of their lives. CHS athletics isn't just about better athletes, but better people. That is why we are so excited to launch our new CHS Player's Creed (see below). In collaboration with the CHS Athletic Leadership council and various stakeholders, the CHS Player’s Creed was developed to outline what we believe it means to be a CHIEF. Every student participating in athletics at CHS, as well as their parent/guardian will be required to sign the CHS Student-Athlete Contract which states the following:
As a student-athlete at Clairemont High School you have the privilege of being part of a memorable and life changing experience. With this privilege comes great responsibility. Therefore, it is the expectation of the CHS admin team and Athletic Director that all who participate in athletics actively work to model character and integrity of the highest quality in the classroom, on the court/pool/field, and in our community. By signing this contract, you agree to strive to live a life worthy of emulating by exhibiting Courage, Humility, Integrity, Endurance, and Focus in all that you do.
