KPBS Partnership

San Diego Unified School District, KPBS and the San Diego County Office of Education have collaborated on a plan to provide for continuity of learning for all students. “At-Home Learning: Where Children Matter” includes a broadcast component with standards-aligned programming in blocks by grade level and a digital component with access to an online library of free PBS educational resources.

Broadcast Resources

KPBS 2 will broadcast 12 hours of programming selected to meet California educational standards. The programming will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in blocks by grade level, each with its own targeted educational programming

  • 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. grades from transitional kindergarten through three

  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. grades four through eight

  • 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. grades nine through 12

How to Watch

A student does not need access to a computer or the Internet to watch the carefully curated content in the schedule. They can tune into KPBS 2 with an antenna at 15.2, Cox 811, Spectrum 1277.

Direct TV, Dish and ATT U-Verse do not carry KPBS 2. If you have this service, change the input on your TV to use the antenna and watch over the air on 15.2.

If someone can’t access KPBS 2, what can they do?

PBS programming is available on-demand via the PBS Video App, PBS Kids Video App and at video.kpbs.org. You can find the apps in your device's app store.

Not all the content that will be broadcast on KPBS 2 is available on the PBS video app, or at the PBS video website.

If there is a show in the broadcast schedule you wish to watch, or find similar content, search for the shows on the video app or video player, or in the search bar of the ca.pbslearningmedia.org. The site is mobile-friendly so an internet connection and computer isn't necessary.
