San Diego Unified adopted an Ethnic Studies graduation requirement starting with the Class of 2024. ELA 1-2 Identity and Relationships is one course that meets the graduation requirement. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about Ethnic Studies prepared by the SDUSD Ethnic Studies Advisory Committee.
There are 7 Guiding Principles of Ethnic Studies. The Ethnic Studies Guiding Principle for each lesson appears on slide 4 of each slidedeck. Throughout the course students will learn about each of the guiding principles and approach the content through the lens of a different principle each day.
