When is the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony? SDSCPA 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 27th from 9:30 - 10:30 am. The ceremony takes place on our campus at the Circle in the Sun. Please be advised that Senior Graduation will also be held on this day. Our campus will close promptly at 11:00 am.
What time does my child need to be on campus during the day of the ceremony? Students are to report to their first period class promptly at 8:32 am. for attendance. We are unable to accommodate the storage of large bags and backpacks during the promotion ceremony. Backpacks will not be necessary, please have your student leave them at home.
What time can I arrive to get my seat? The gates will be open at 9:00 am. on May 27, 2026. Parking is limited so please plan to arrive early.
How many tickets will my child get? Each promoting 8th Grader will receive six (6) complimentary tickets. Students will be able to pick up these tickets during lunch on Friday, May 22nd. Additional tickets may be purchased through PurplePass for $10 each, with a limit of four (4) per student. They will be available for purchase during the month of May. PurplePassTickets will require a passcode and your student’s ID number in order to purchase. Please note that these extra four (4) tickets are tied directly to your child’s ID Number. They will not be sold out. The passcode will be included when your child picks up their complimentary tickets.
When will we get the six (6) complementary tickets? Do I have to come to school to pick them up? Your child will be able to pick up an envelope with the six (6) complementary tickets on Friday, May 22nd during lunch. The envelope will also include the passcode to purchase additional tickets (maximum of 4 tickets) Please note that these tickets can NOT be replaced.
What is the appropriate attire for my child to wear during their promotional ceremony? We encourage your child to dress appropriately for the occasion. Please note this is a special occasion to celebrate the Class of 2030.
Do you have a handicapped placard and will need closer parking? At this time, we have six (6) marked handicapped spaces in our lots. However, we will be reserving the Staff parking lot for more handicapped parking. Please contact Emil Mayor (emayor@sandi.net) to make sure we issue a parking pass for the Staff Lot. We will do all we can, but parking spaces are limited and it will be on a first come, first served basis. We kindly ask that each family bring one and only one vehicle. All parking passes are only good for one car.
How long does the ceremony usually last? The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will last approximately an hour (9:30am - 10:30am.). Please be advised that Senior Graduation will also be held on this day. Our campus will promptly close at 11:00 am.
Will the event be live streamed? No, the event will not be live streamed.
Can parents/guardians bring balloons? Please note that this a memorable experience for all our SDSCPA families so we ask that you do not obstruct other peoples’ views during the ceremony. No balloons, air horns, or large signs are permitted. You will be asked to return them to your car before entering the campus.
What about signs? Can I bring a sign to wave for my child? While we are all excited to celebrate the accomplishments of all the students in the promoting 8th Grade Class, we kindly ask that you be respectful of those around you and do not hold up large signs throughout the ceremony.
