The distance learning environment has prompted the health office staff to develop this online resource. This website serves to assist students, families and staff to connect with health office staff and resources. San Diego Unified Food Distribution Information:

Beginning Monday, August 31, we will open 82 school locations for students to pick up their breakfast and lunch. Students and parents/guardians can drive-thru or walk-up to any meal pick-up site to receive their breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, please visit the link below:


Feeding San Diego Food Distribution Information:

Feeding San Diego distributes more than 26 million meals a year across San Diego County in partnership with more than 300 local charities, schools, faith communities, meal sites and food pantries. Menstrual Product Distribution

San Diego Unified School District, with our Nursing and Wellness Department, is conducting a drive thru/ walk-up distribution of menstrual products, including pads and tampons for students. The goal of this initiative is to ensure our students have access to these products as needed. Please visit the site below for more information.


Thermometer Distribution

San Diego Unified School District, with our Nursing and Wellness Department, is conducting a drive thru/ walk-up distribution of digital thermometers. These thermometers were donated to the district for distribution to families in Elementary, Middle and High Schools that are in the areas of our high priority high schools: Lincoln, Morse, San Diego, Hoover and Crawford. LaMaestra Community Clinic & School Based Health Centers:

Our on site, school based medical and dental clinics are not operating on the Hoover High School campus during distance learning. However, students and families can access LaMaestra Services by contacting them directly. Please see the link below for more information:


Mental Health Resources

Hoover High School Resources: Rady Children's Outpatient and Mending Matters provide mental health services to Hoover students. Unfortunately, on site therapy sessions are not available during distance learning due to the COVID-19 public health crisis. However, providers with both Rady's and Mending Matters continue to provide services in other ways. Services are accessed through referrals made by our school counselors. Students and parents can contact their school counselor for more information and referrals. COVID-19 & Mental Health: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Public health actions, such as social distancing, can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. However, these actions are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Coping with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.
