English 9 

Course Description: Students in the 9th Grade ELA course read and analyze a broad range of nonfiction and fiction selections, deepening their awareness of how language works in effectively communicating an idea.  Additionally, this course aims to educate students to be politically, socially, and economically conscious about their personal connections to local and global histories.  We will also engage in ideas are careers in sustainable building and engineering through guest speakers, hands-on projects, field trips, and personal goal-setting.
