Dear Rowan Families,

Welcome to Rowan Elementary. We are committed to making learning safe, joyful, meaningful and rigorous for our students. Our mission is to educate ALL students so that they may reach their full potential and become responsible, kind, literate, thinking, and productive members of our global society. We value the whole child, creativity, diversity, curiosity, high quality learning experiences, family and community involvement, collaboration, and life-long learning.

Rowan Elementary is committed to creating conditions for all children to achieve academically and develop social emotional wellbeing. We empower our learners to be active participants in their own learning. We are committed to character building, and embracing social and emotional learning as an integral part of our curriculum. Our school is dedicated to offering a rich, well-rounded education that includes a balance of reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, and the arts! We also value and promote student leadership on our campus by offering our Roadrunners various opportunities to use their voice and share their perspective. 

Rowan is proud to be a member of SDUSD's STEAM initiative.  We couldn’t be happier to grow our STEAM classrooms throughout the grade levels, STEAMing ahead so our children may grow up wondering and exploring the world around them, and using their hands, minds and hearts to solve real world problems. We are also excited to be partnering with the SAGE garden project. With the belief every subject can be taught in the garden and the kitchen, science, math, and reading will come to life for students as they engage with our resident Garden Educator. Teamwork, following instructions, and respect for others are part of the lessons students will be putting into practice throughout the year.
