The Walker Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a group of Walker families and staff members who come together to build community and support our school. We help boost school spirit and create meaningful experiences for our Walker students.
Being part of the Walker community means you’re already a member and welcome to join all events and monthly meetings - no membership fee required!
PTO meetings are a great space to connect with other Walker families, share your ideas and questions, and help shape your child’s school experience this year.
Join us for monthly PTO meetings on Tuesday evenings, 5pm - 6pm, in the Multi Purpose Room (MPR). We’ll share school updates, plan events, vote on initiatives, and hear your ideas. All Walker families and staff are welcome—kids too!
2025-2026 Meeting Dates:
August 26 · September 16 · October 21 · November 18 · December 16
January 13 · February 17 · March 17 · April 14 · May 12
Here’s how PTO participation benefits Walker students:
Increased parent involvement is linked to improved academic performance, better attendance rates, and reduced behavioral issues among students
Improved communication between families and school staff fosters open dialogue, better understanding, and cooperation while inviting parents to be part of the solution
Fundraising and resource allocation supplements the school budget and supports educational programs, extracurricular activities, and infrastructure improvements, providing a more enriched educational experience beyond standard curriculum
Volunteer support broadens the site’s capacity to extend supportive services and events to students
Collective voice of parents addresses the needs and interests of students and their families with issues related to policies, curriculum, resources, and student well-being
Sense of community brings people together to create a collaborative and supportive network, promote school spirit, and strengthen school culture
We’re excited to share our fundraising progress this year! This section will be updated regularly to show how our community’s generosity is helping us reach our goals.
Our bylaws outline how the organization operates—including how decisions are made, how officers are elected, and the roles and responsibilities of board members.
