Physical Plant Operations

The mission of San Diego Unified School District Physical Plant Operations (PPO) is to safeguard the well-being of our students, staff, families, and community by providing safe, reliable, and well-maintained learning environments. 

Our team is responsible for maintaining and cleaning San Diego Unified School District’s 226 educational facilities that spans over 15.7 million square feet of buildings and 2,600 acres of developed grounds so schools remain safe, functional, and ready for learning every day. PPO approaches this responsibility with professionalism, teamwork, and accountability, maintaining facilities in a way that extends the life of building systems and controls long-term costs. Our work supports a safe, dependable learning environment for students and staff across the District.
