Community Schools Funding Request Information

• $20,000 is allocated for this year.

• All spending must be requested and approved through SGT.
  Once approved by SGT, Jesus Payan, Community School Coordinator, submits the request to Jason Babineau, Community Schools Director.

• Once approved by Jason, funds may be spent.
  
  

A funding request must include (per CDE guidelines):

• Connection to an SPSA Goal:

  • Safe, Inclusive, and Collaborative Culture

  • Access to Broad and Challenging Curriculum and Acceleration of Student Learning with High Expectations for ALL

  • Family and Community Engagement with Highly Regarded Neighborhood Schools

  • Quality Leadership and Teaching

• Connection to a Community Schools Pillar:

  • Expanded and Enriched Learning Time and Opportunities

  • Integrated Student Supports

  • Collaborative Leadership

  • Family and Community Engagement

• Baseline data highlighting the need

• Explanation of how the request addresses this need

• Plan for data collection to measure impact

Proposed Funding Request Process:

1. Teachers, staff, Penn family member, and community partners may complete a Funding Request Form.

2. Jesus Payan provides SGT with all funding requests prior to the meeting for review.

3. The individual requesting funds attends the SGT meeting to address any questions.

4. Upon SGT approval, Jesus Payan follows the CS Funding Process and submits the request to Jason Babineau via Smartsheet Tracker. Once approved by Jason Babineau, Jesus Payan supports the individual with expenditures.

5. Jesus Payan, in collaboration with the requester, provides follow-up data and measurable outcomes related to the expenditures.
