Overview

Students will highlight the contributions of volunteers of the USS Midway through personal connections, interviews, field trips, and reflection of the experiences getting to know their volunteer and the reasons for involving themselves in civic engagement. Students will focus on the history, technology, and math components for their projects, both in their interviews with volunteers’ personal histories, and the history of the USS Midway. Final project concludes with a published book of individual posters celebrating the volunteers’ love and contributions for the work, history and legacy of the USS Midway, and conclusion of why civic engagement matters. Published book to be presented to the USS Midway as a legacy. Larger Individual volunteer posters to be published for USS Midway promotional use.
