New Hire Orientations are held once a month in-person on Wednesday or Thursday from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Newly hired employees must register to attend one of the scheduled orientations within their first 30 days of employment.
New employees will be introduced to the district's structure and personnel policies. The event will also allow opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the benefits, health and wellness resources, and services available to San Diego Unified staff
Registration through the district's professional learning platform (employee ID log-in required) must be completed prior to attending the New Hire Orientation.
If you have questions, or if you have any issues logging onto the professional learning platform, after your first week of work, please request help from the IT helpdesk via email at helpdesk@sandi.net.

The Staff Portal is a district webpage dedicated to employee resources. This is your primary source for timely information on upcoming events, policy updates, and the main gateway for district and employee communication.
San Diego Unified is committed to staff wellness. As an employee, you are eligible for a variety of free wellness resources year-round, Including free physical fitness and gym privileges through our partnership with VEBA. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential service designed to help employees resolve personal and workplace challenges. Available through Optum Health, the EAP provides professional, short-term, problem-focused counseling for a broad range of issues and concerns.
