About Me

2019

Grade 5 Longellow Elementary

Welcome to Dana!!

This is my 37th year of teaching! After graduating from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, I taught at an American School in Guadalajara, Mexico. After 2 years there I taught 4th grade in Carlsbad, CA. and following that I worked for 7 years at the Vista Unified School District. Since leaving Vista I have worked in the San Diego Unified School District at several different schools, teaching in both English and Spanish. I originally taught at Dana for about 10 years, first as a 5th grade language arts teacher, then as a 6th grade math and social studies teacher, and then left to work for the district's Educational Technology department for two years. I happily returned to the Dana community 4 years ago, and I am excited about the possibilities of what we can do in virtual learning this year!

On a personal note, I live in Clairemont with my husband of 25 years, my twin boys, our dog Leo, and our cat Charlie. We enjoy traveling together, going to movies, and are active in our church. Music plays a large role in my life, and I love reading and playing games like Yahtzee and Uno.
