Recommendations:
Good lighting (avoid backlight if possible)
Child can sit upright comfortably
There is a place to keep school supplies accessible and organized
Room to write and draw (be aware they will be using crayons, dry-erase markers, washable markers, and glue which may get on the surface).
Reduce distractions
Recommended (NOT required) parent provided materials: black sock (white board eraser), scissors (only available to the child when there is adult supervision), headphones with a microphone
A "Chromebook" is the computer that is provided to your child though the school district. While you are not required to use the district provided computer, it is the best way to ensure the fewest "technical difficulties." If you must use a different computer, please use the Chrome browser and use THESE DIRECTIONS to access your student's account.
Clever is the application that provides direct login to the other websites we will be using. For many of these, students will be automatically logged into your child's account when the website is accessed through Clever. Other applications will require you to log your child in through their school google account .
Please note: Many websites and apps will not work properly until you logged into your student's google account (many permissions are set to only allow district users). Your student's Google login information will be provided in an email from your teacher. Use <studentID>@stu.sandi.net as the email when you log in.
My Zoom links will have a password embedded in them and take you to a waiting room. The waiting room allows me to allow the people into the meeting who should be there.
The first time that you click a Zoom link, you will be asked to download or open the app. Zoom works the best when it is accessed through the app rather than the website.
