Our Read-a-Thon fundraiser is an engaging event designed to inspire a love of reading while raising funds for student programs and resources. During the event, students set personal reading goals and log their reading progress over a designated period. The fundraiser connects students with families, friends, and community members who pledge their support based on the number of pages or books read.
This initiative not only helps build a lifelong appreciation for literacy but also enhances reading skills and fosters a sense of achievement. Funds raised through the Read-a-Thon support essential school programs, literacy initiatives, and enrichment opportunities for students.
A Jog-a-Thon fundraiser is an energetic event that promotes physical fitness and school pride while raising funds to support student programs and activities. During the event, students set personal jogging or running goals and track their progress on a designated course.
This fundraiser encourages students to stay active and healthy while fostering a strong sense of community and pride in their school. By participating in the Jog-a-Thon, students build teamwork, resilience, and school spirit. Funds raised through the event go toward enhancing school programs, athletic activities, and enrichment opportunities for all students.
Buenos Dias Café is a welcoming monthly event where families can connect with school leadership over coffee. This gathering provides a chance to stay informed through school updates, learn about available programs, and foster connections within the school community. It’s a space to build relationships and strengthen the partnership between families and the school.
Family Nights at Mountain View provide fun and engaging opportunities for families to come together through activities like movie nights, game nights, and curriculum nights. These events are designed to strengthen community bonds and create meaningful connections within the school.
The Fall Festival is a free event for all Mountain View students, offering a variety of games and engaging experiences for students and their families to enjoy. This celebration has a positive impact on the school community by fostering a sense of unity and belonging, creating opportunities for families to connect in a fun and relaxed environment.
The festival also strengthens relationships between students, families, and staff, contributing to a supportive and inclusive school culture. Events like the Fall Festival help build lasting memories, reinforce school pride, and showcase the vibrant, collaborative spirit of the Mountain View community.
The Parent-Student Association (PSA) provides vital funding that allows classroom teachers to purchase materials not typically available through standard school funds. These resources are essential in enhancing the learning experience by enabling teachers to create engaging, dynamic, and customized lessons that meet the diverse needs of their students.
Access to additional materials empowers teachers to introduce innovative teaching methods, incorporate hands-on activities, and support project-based learning, ultimately fostering creativity, critical thinking, and deeper understanding. By filling gaps in funding, the PSA ensures that teachers have the tools they need to inspire and support every student's success.
Although categorized under programs, Community Schools are far more than just a collection of initiatives—they represent a transformative school improvement and equity strategy. At its core, the Community Schools model fosters deep collaboration among all educational partners, including teachers, school staff, students, parents, caregivers, and community members, to identify barriers to student success and develop targeted, sustainable solutions that address the unique needs of the school community.
By working together, we create a holistic support system that not only enhances academic achievement but also strengthens social-emotional well-being, family engagement, and access to essential resources.
PSA is proud to stand alongside Mountain View, leveraging our collective expertise, resources, and partnerships to drive meaningful change. Through this collaboration, we are committed to removing obstacles, expanding opportunities, and ensuring that every student and family thrives. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive, and more equitable future for our school community.
