Context: What event/progress led you to this step? Was there anything done before (immediately or historically)?
Purpose and Pillar: Why are we doing this? Which pillar(s) does this align with?
Process: What do the steps look like?
Next Steps: What are you planning to do after this?
After reviewing the findings from our Needs and Assets Assessment, we have identified two critical priority areas that require our focus: Instruction and Family and Community Engagement (FACE). These areas were chosen based on the insights gathered from our community, which reflect our school environment's current needs and strengths. We are currently working on Phase 3 - (Plan-Do-Study-Act) PDSA Cycles
We are taking strategic steps to address these priorities and align our efforts toward measurable improvements. Below, you can click on the following links to view our current progress in each area:
Instructional Practices: A focus on improving teaching methods, integrating project-based learning, and supporting professional development to ensure effective instructional delivery.
Family and Community Engagement (FACE): Strengthening relationships with families and the broader community to foster a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative school environment.
Please stay tuned as we make progress in these areas and share ongoing updates.
When we began our Community Schools journey, we considered the collaborative leadership necessary to implement the initiative successfully. Our School Governance Team (SGT) oversees the Community Schools Staff Committee and funding requests.
All Mountain View staff members are welcome to support one of the key focus areas (Family and Community Engagement, Instruction) through committee work. This is where ideas related to our school goals are presented and discussed to gain the input of colleagues before they are taken to SGT for approval or funding requests (if any funding is required). Should an idea need more development or additional data/information, it will be sent back to the committee for the following meeting.
Our governing body, the SGT, comprises the principal, teachers, school staff, and parents. At these meetings, we discuss Community School updates and funding requests. All staff, families, and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in SGT meetings.
