Work Samples

What are "Work Samples"?

In independent study, students earn attendance credit by completing and submitting schoolwork rather than attending classes in person each day, as they would in a traditional school setting. Each month, students submit a sample of completed work (such as one page of an assignment) which the district uses to document attendance and verify participation in the program.

Tips for Success: 

• Parents and guardians, it is important that you review work samples before they are submitted 

• Print and use the checklist 

• Create a folder in student binder for work samples only

• Don't procrastinate! While technically due the last Friday of the month, Ms. Field requires students to submit work samples during the third week of the month. This gives students time to make corrections as needed. 

• Work samples should be one page only (if it's a multipage assignment, pick one page to use)

• Photo copies can be made in the library

• Heading must be legible and in the top right hand corner
