Our goal is to keep students in school! We do our best to treat students' physical and
psycho-somatic symptoms so they feel strong and confident at school, able to focus in class.
Our health office staff tries to work with students and parents for successful plans.
Our school is equipped with filtered water refill stations and fountains. Please send your student with their own water bottle, as there is no water regularly for sale on campus. Dehydration can cause attention issues, trouble with math computations, headaches, and can affect short-term memory.
Many middle schoolers wake up too late to eat breakfast at home. And some are picky eaters! SDUSD provides a daily morning Nutrition Break and Lunch where free food is provided. Please check that your student is eating at school. If not, please consider sending snacks or lunch from home. Stomachaches, headaches, dizziness, overall weakness, falling asleep in class, attitude problems, nausea-- these are all symptoms that are often avoidable with healthy food consumption. Even a quick smoothie or granola bar on the way to school can make a big difference!
