Cybersecurity is one of the components of Digital Citizenship. Cybersecurity means keeping your computers, tablets, and personal info safe from online scams and hackers.

Our district is introducing a new annual Student Cybersecurity Lesson and Acknowledgement to ensure all students receive essential training on device safety, phishing awareness, and acceptable online behavior. Sites are encouraged to schedule this 5 minute mandatory lesson during Digital Citizenship Week (Oct. 19-23). Lesson details, videos and resources can be found here.

The first slide displays a curriculum matrix featuring five core lessons: Device Care, Cybersecurity, Media Literacy, Digital Wellness, and AI Literacy. These core topics are recommended for instruction at the beginning of the school year. The second slide contains supplemental lessons to introduce new targeted topics and reinforce core concepts as needed throughout the year.
