Good morning ladies and gentlemen, namaste! I'll be your history teacher this year. My name is Matthew Hollis. I am a native of America's Finest City, San Diego. I'm 41 years young (42 in October). I'm a husband, a father, a son and a brother. I love my family and I love life! I surf, golf, spend time with friends and family playing pool or listening to music, and I also spend a lot of time in my garden or on the "farm" with my animals. (We have over 50!!) I love opening baseball, basketball, football, golf, Pokemon, and GPK cards on my YouTube channel as well! I also love teaching history! I have taught history for over 12 years! I cannot believe it has actually been that long! However, I do believe in the saying, "Time flies when you're havin' fun!"

I also believe in the saying, "Those who forget their past are doomed to repeat it." I believe that especially in this time and space, it is critical our children learn the past to see how much more we are connected as people. Ignorance divides...history guides. I hope to be able to guide our students to a better understanding of the past, so that they may have a greater opportunity to lead us safely into the future.
