What support does the school counselor provide to my child?

School Counselors are credentialed to teach academic, college/career, social emotional skills to all students.  The Hearst Elementary School Counseling department uses the MTMDSS Model to support all students.  Below are examples of interventions your child may receive.

All

• Core Curriculum Lessons (e.g.  Harmony, Second Step, Zones of Regulation, Leader In Me, ADL Activity Library, Youville)

Some

• Small Group Counseling

• Individual Counseling

Few

• SST (Student Study Team)/504 Plan/Special Education Services

• Crisis Response
