What is a PDSA cycle?
In education, continuous improvement is essential, and the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycle is pivotal to this process. Originating from quality improvement practices, the PDSA framework is designed to guide educational systems toward meaningful change. Developed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, PDSA cycles enable schools to address challenges effectively, enhance teaching methodologies, and ultimately improve student outcomes.
Our community school strategy will leverage the PDSA cycle through our workgroups to identify and solve challenges while developing sustainable systems. This approach emphasizes collaboration among educators, administrators, and curriculum developers to create a cohesive plan for improvement.
In this article, we will delve into the concept of PDSA cycles and how they can be effectively implemented in educational settings. Whether you are a teacher, a school leader, or involved in curriculum development, this guide aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the PDSA framework and its transformative potential within our schools. Together, we can unlock the power of PDSA cycles to enhance our educational environments.
