In our community school initiative, we rolled out a needs and assets assessment for parents. This assessment aimed to identify the support and resources needed by our families while recognizing their strengths. The data collected was shared with parents to promote transparency and involve them in the decision-making process, creating a collaborative and supportive environment for our children's education.
The purpose of gathering this data is to understand the perspectives and experiences of our parents regarding the safety and overall environment of the community. Moving forward, we can use this information to recognize the voices of our parents by addressing their concerns and promoting the positive aspects highlighted in the assessment. Collaborating with our community and educational partners, we can work towards creating a safer and more supportive neighborhood environment for everyone involved.
The data shows that almost 20% of parents have given positive feedback, which means that many parents are happy with the school. This is a good sign and shows that the school is doing well in many areas.
However, the data also shows that almost 20% of parents feel there is a lack of supervision and 10.3% are concerned about safety. These are important issues that the school will work on to make sure all students are safe and well taken care of.
Moving forward, the school will be talking to parents and community partners to find solutions to these issues. We will also work with focus groups to learn more about how we can make things better. It's important for us to work together to make sure our school is the best it can be for all our students.
We’re excited to share that your top priorities for Fay Elementary are sports programs, with 69% of you in favor, and health services, with 57.6% supporting this need.
