I have been an educator and administrator for twenty years researching, developing and overseeing innovative STEAM programs in collaboration with local artists, engineers, and academic institutions. I am passionate about building exciting programs at the service of and in collaboration with the community of San Diego. 

I am a mom to two lively kids Romy, 4 and Andy, 2. My partner, Rees, teaches Chemistry at San Diego State University. I love to dance, especially Flamenco and spend my free time thrifting and playing at the beach with my kids.

As an educator in San Diego Unified School District since 1989, I am thrilled to see Community Schools come to fruition here in City Heights at Cherokee Point Elementary School.  Throughout the years, after earning several different credentials and working in a variety of district programs, I have become very well versed in our community resources and supports.  I have had the pleasure of working at Cherokee Point as the site counselor since the 2017-2018 school year. 

My own children are both college students getting prepared for their futures.  My daughter is getting ready to graduate at the end of the current semester from the University of Colorado, studying environmental sciences and my step-son is working on his bio-engineering degree locally in San Diego.  My husband, James and I enjoy spending our free-time with our toes in the sand camping all along the Baja Peninsula or traveling throughout Mexico.  

I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to share my positive energy and enthusiasm as the Community Schools Site Coach to support our students, families, and staff.
