ENROLLMENT PROCESS

We are excited to have you as a part of our Clay Elementary Family!  Registration hours are from 10-2 pm Monday through Friday at our office. You may also call us to make an appointment.  Please follow these steps:

1. To verify that we are your neighborhood school, please check your address with the School Finder at LINK 

Children entering Kindergarten must turn 5 years old before or on September 1st of each school year. 

Children who will turn 4 by September 1st , are eligible to participate in a lottery for our  new Universal Transitional Kindergarten program. Universal Transitional Kindergarten provides time for younger students to engage in early academic learning experiences designed to promote success in kindergarten and beyond.  You can find more information about UTK here

New students (K-5th) coming into San Diego Unified can enroll online or come into our office. Online registration can be found at www.sandiegounified.org

Please also submit a copy of your child’s original birth certificate, verification of residency (SDGE bill, water bill, cable bill, rental agreement, tax bill) in your name dated within the last 30 days and your child’s immunization record. Please see the link for required immunizations.  All shots are required prior to enrollment.
