Chesterton believes that teamwork is essential to fostering a supportive and effective learning environment. We value collaboration among staff, students, families, and community partners, recognizing that shared decision-making and collective effort lead to better outcomes for all.
What an honor it is to serve as the community site coordinator at Chesterton Elementary. I am looking forward to getting to know the Chesterton community more by hearing from everyone as we work together to make the school experience for students the best that it can possibly be. My name is Tracye Bishop, but the students and staff on campus call me Ms. Tracye. Before I was a site coordinator, I was a high school US history teacher and a middle school special education educator. Seven of the last years I taught right here in the San Diego Unified School District. Prior to being an educator, I worked as a community organizer in Contra Costa County, Sacramento, and the Central Valley. Working alongside families, schools, and community partners is in my DNA. I look forward to seeing where our journey takes us in the Chesterton Elementary School community. I am a native San Diegan who left to attend and graduate from UC Berkeley. I met, married, and raised my children between Berkeley and the Sacramento Region. I have two adult daughters, run a small seasonal business, and travel every chance I get. If you see me in the neighborhood, I'm either heading to a pickleball court or trying a new tasty dish at a local restaurant. Always up for a new recommendation with great conversation.
My name is Jessica Moore and I am on my 28th year of teaching, 23 of those years here at Chesterton. I am passionate about community schools because it looks at the students holistically and it allows for the entire community to help our students thrive. On a personal note, my husband and I have raised a 22-year-old daughter who just graduated college, and an18-year-old son, who just started college, so we are now left spoiling our 4-year-old fur baby. My hobbies are consuming anything artistic and/or cultural including music, movies, theater, festivals, art, dance, and more!
Alison Disque, special education teacher.
"I have been an Educational Specialist at Chesterton Elementary School for 12 years. I support students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Third Grade and am dedicated to helping every child succeed. In addition to working with students, I serves as a coach on the Community School Committee and am an active member of both the School Governance Team (SGT) and School Site Council (SSC).
I have an 8-year-old son, two dogs and a husband. We enjoy going to the beach and hiking."
With 25 years of experience as an elementary school teacher in San Diego Unified, I’ve loved being part of the growth and learning that happens every day in our schools. I’m now a Community Schools Central Office Resource Teacher, supporting five amazing schools as they kick off their first year as community schools. I’ve also had the chance to be a mentor teacher, which gave me the opportunity to support and learn from fellow educators. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to a fun and energetic 12-year-old boy who basically lives on the baseball field. I’m a huge San Diego Padres fan and always happiest with my toes in the sand at the beach.

Community partners play a vital role in supporting families by meeting immediate needs and helping to overcome systemic barriers that limit access to essential resources for long-term well-being. Core partners are committed to sustainable changes for the Chesterton community as families and staff bring their collective concerns forward. We are grateful for their collaboration.
