I am originally from Orange County, CA. I played college baseball for two years at Santa Ana College before moving to San Diego to earn my bachelor's degree from San Diego State University. I loved it here so much that I decided to stay! I went on to earn both my teaching credential and master’s degree from SDSU. Go Aztecs! This will be my 11th year teaching at Marshall. I am passionate about helping my students use their own unique strengths and interests to enhance growth and development. I believe in a positive and supportive approach built on a foundation of strong relationships and trust. I also believe that learning should be FUN! I’ll always make time for jokes or a good eye-rolling pun.
I love to be physically active, especially outdoors, and I have a ton of hobbies to match! When I'm not at Marshall, you can usually find me at the beach surfing, lobster diving, or running on the boardwalk. I also enjoy boxing, weightlifting, playing the guitar, snowboarding, hiking, and camping. Traveling is also a huge part of my life; 25 countries and counting! Whether it's a weekend trip to Chicago or a backpacking adventure through Southeast Asia, I just can't get enough. During summer break, I’ve been known to book a one-way ticket to somewhere new. I value experiencing different cultures and continuing to learn everything I can about our world. I'm a student too!
I’m from Northern California and moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State for my undergraduate and credential program. Go Aztecs! At SDSU, I am currently working on my Masters in Autism and am a B.E.A.M.S. scholar; a fellowship dedicated to behavioral, emotional, and mental support for students with extensive needs. I am very passionate in providing my students a holistic education that teaches them and prepares them for the future, while nourishing their heart and mind. This is my second year at Marshall and I am so happy to be here!
On my free time, I love to be outside! I enjoy hiking, camping, and playing Spikeball. My favorite hobby is traveling. Any chance I get, I will jump on the opportunity to travel somewhere new. I’m quite the foodie too, so San Diego is the perfect place for me! But most of all, I love music. You can find me listening to music throughout the day! Some fun facts for you are: I lived in Japan for a year (I ate SO much ramen), I still use my dad's 35mm film camera, and I am on a quest to visit every state- 16/50 so far.
I am a San Diego native and I have a degree in Sociology with a minor in English. I enjoy spending time with my seven nieces and nephews, completing crosswords, metal detecting, and collecting smashed pennies. I also dabble in cross stitch, bird watching, and small DIY and upcycling projects. I have two cats. (You are sure to see them on Zoom in the near future.) A few fun facts to leave you with: I was class president in 5th grade, and drove a forklift at PetSmart for a short while during college. My brother and I spent an entire 24 hours in Disneyland a few years ago. It was exhausting but magical! I am in the process of starting my own gumball and bulk candy machine route.
