Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

i use software autodesk fusion 360 for 3d design

( laserwork & Ultimaker Cura ) for fabrication

and 3D printing machine , cnc laser cutter machine El Malky ML96 CO2 Laser Cutter

materials like wood with 3mm thikness and plastic wire and metal screw bolts

Design/Preparation Process

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

design sketch fully defined

you can use offset to make polygon duplicate inside

then extrude with 3mm

Using the computer mouse, we select the entire design.

you can use fillet to make curve

from modify choose fillet

design something to hold the hand of glasses with screw m3

make hole in hand of glasses to put screw into

press right click on design and choose save as mesh then choose export file as DXF

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

from laser work app Save the file in a proper format rld in flash memory then choose same file from the machine and open

at laser cutter machine we have buttons to control the machine like

origin: it make the laser start from the same point we mention it

frame : it give us information about the size of design in real wooden plate

we make some configuration at laserwork to make sure that machine will do specific instructions

select all design and give color black then choose power 30 and speed 65 to make cut

you can use this website to make any picture in DXF format to import in laser work

press save to file and save project as name as you want to see

then take copy for usb driver and plug into machine , choose same name file and use button of machine to make every thing prepare to start cutting

edit configuration to make the hand of glasses prepared for design i choose standard quality for hands and it was great

The Control Knob can be pressed and rotated to select different menu items.

Setting Print Settings to 0.2mm NORMAL is perfect for most prints.

Smaller layer height (0.1mm Detail) will give you finer quality at the cost of print time.

Larger layer height (0.35mm FAST) will print quicker, but at the cost of

print quality.

Filament to Generic PLA means that Nozzle temperature will be 210°C

Brim will print a bit of extra material around the bottom of your model

Infill to 15% will fill your model with a zigzag pattern

Support is sacrificial material that holds up the overhangs

these most setting important to any design

press slice then save to removabel drive and choose export from file and save in specific location

it seems very good and the design was funny

When you got stuck, what/who did you turn to? At what point did you have to pause to research or learn more before moving on? What are some mistakes, pitfalls, or challenges that others can avoid if they were doing this assignment?

i have some challenge at first i get into maker diploma late so i've missed a lot of things but i try so hard to get in track and do tasks and fabricate designs

and try to get contact with my instructors and colleges and other people

unexpectedly the app give me that error and stop working but thanks god i've been saved all work before that happen

when i import this design in laserwork it does not same shape and i did not get it or understand what happen so my friend give me advice and help me to try edit the design

solution i try to edit my design by making offset to see what looks like in laserwork and it works

I've been wanting to do a project for a while, and I was inspired by YouTube and the Internet, but my time on the scholarship added to mindset understanding of the different design methods on the real ground.
