Catapult
Basically, we wanted to create a fun entaining game inspired from the historic weapon (Catapult), which was an invention by the ancient Greek, as a war weapon
Fusion 360
RDworks
Laser cutting machine
3mm plywood
After recieving the cut parts from the laser cutting machine, we decided to arrange them in the order of the assembly.
First, we arranged one side of the catapult
Arranged all the parts to be inserted, keeping in mind that this step is critical and if done wrong will be a huge time consumer.
after taking enough pictures and defining how we will start, we began attaching the parts together
Step 1:
Attach the wheel shafts to one side of the catapult and add the wheels.
Step 2:
Attach the front and the back side of the catapult using 2.5 model technique and t-slot with bolts and nuts.
Step 3:
Attach the top part of the catapult using the same method.
Step 4:
Insert the thrower and the second shaft before attaching the other side.
Step 5:
Repeat step 1, 2.
Step 6:
Attach the elastic rubber band in a way that mimics a slingshot.
the pieces that were supposed to be tied fit together were loose due to desiging issue or through the laser cutting process, But mainly the time was the real issue here since we needed more than 15 mins to finish this task well.
In future projects if such an issue happen, we can use small wooden sticks to fit parts together.
techinques in 2.5D Models and t-slots can be really helpful when assembling my final project, also, keeping in my the order of what should be assembled first can be a time saver.
Beside the main session, in this extra session I learnt more about different types of documentations (DIY, Showcasing, Technical).
Also, Learnt more about how to make my journal stand out, like for example, dividers may be small details in any website but it is a plus comparing to other websites which aren't as organized, panctuation is important as well, those small details in typing and grammar in general can ruin the formal image of a report and will make a website considered as an unprofessional or just a rushed job.
