Location "Al-Azhar Park"
Lately, I feel disconnected from nature, However, one of my favorite days ever was going to "Al-Azhar Park" and just watching all these green areas. Since then, I realized that one of our problems was that we became stuck between four walls, with our AC, and of course our screens.
So here's the problem: We stopped using two important senses: Sight and Smelling, and I'm willing to work on this.
Mainly, the idea is a plant pot that can be moved with our phones, and it has a storage unit for scented roses, so it can extract the scent, and spread it to our room.
Green spaces affect our mental health.
I was able to breathe freely, and it gave me the comfort to connect with myself.
Generically, I care a lot, I wish we all one day will have the ability to connect freely to ourselves and have some peace.
When we connect with ourselves, we can feel deeply what's wrong and deal with it, after that, we can be very productive.
I can imagine that it has a large bowl, with holes, so we can get rid of the excess water.
Also, I'll insert a plate beneath so the excess water can be removed easily.
A storage part will be added for the scented roses, with a fan to spread the scent.
The Input: We press on a button to start spreading the smell.
The output: Enjoying an internal view with a natural smell inside our apartments.
Smart Plant Pot
Construction Parts
The planter's pot and bowl for excess water from watering will be designed on Fusion 360 and fabricated on the 3d printer.
The rest of the body, mainly the legs will be designed on Fusion 360, and fabricated using Laser Cutting.
Input
(Sensing, Tactile Input, and/or Graphical Input)
The planter will start spreading smell, and moving around after pressing a button.
There will be a graphical input, as there'll be a screen with quotes appearing on every 5 minutes.
Action
(Physical and/or Graphic)
Moving: by using motors, and wheels.
Spreading Smell: by using a fan.
Interaction with a screen that shows quotes.
Brain
An Arduino UNO board will be used to take inputs and generate actions
Power Management
I'm thinking of a battery; as I don't want wires to become an obstacle for the moving feature, but I'm thinking if this battery could be charged daily as our phones.
The project prototype
The box below is for smelly roses, it's opened for spreading the smell.
The wheels move around and spread more smell
Here's the mechanism
