Ideation
This Week's assignment
Designing cool personal glasses
My idea is to design a glass that is inspired by Scandinavian countries (I hope to travel to them one day ).
The bridge is like an inverted triangle To fit the nose
Scandinavian countries
How to measure
Measurments
Designing Process
*Search for the right dimensions
*Sketch the design.
*Pickup CAD software .
*Try to applicate my vision.
Final Design "On Session Task"
Tool Chain "Software * Materials * Machines "
Software
Fusion 360
Material
Plywood for frame
PLA for arm
Machines
El Malky ML1390 CO2 Laser Cutter
Prusa i3 MK2
2D Sketching for Frame
I choose a hexagon shape.
Consideration of proper measurements.
Fully defined the sketch.
Applicate Offset feature to make a thickness.
Drawing a 3 mm Circle for the nail.
2D Sketching for Arm
Imagine that the arm consists of 3 parts.
Sketch the main part "rectangle shape"
Sketch lines with angles to attach with the rectangle "behind the ear"
Drawing a small rectangle to represent the front part.
I counted the nail hole. "Circle with 3 mm"
Using Filet, Chamfer & Extrude feature.
Fully define the sketch.
2D Sketching
First
imagine the Glasses Lenses design "Sketch it"
Prepare the needed measurements
Then
Open Fusion 360
Sketch it
Finally
Save the file as *.DFX
*Import it into Laser Work Programme.
*Define which Lines need to be cut.
*Put the right Speed & Power number.
*Connect the Laser machine USB then download the file.
30 Speed 55 Power
3D Sketching
First
imagine the Glasses arm design "Sketch it"
Prepare the needed measurements
Then
Open Fusion 360
Sketch it
Finally
Save the file as *.STL
*Open the *.STL file on Cura.
*Slicing it, define the infill & Profile.
Profile Fine 0.15 / Infill 20% / Time 1h 10m
*Define Material "PLA"
*The Screw hole doesn't need Support.
*Export it as a *.gcode File to open it in 3d Printer.
I'm excited
I booked an appointment tomorrow إن شاء الله 25/1/2023 from 2.00 to 4.00 Pm ... I'll add the progress as soon as possible بإذن الرحمن
On Othmano it makes sense
On FabLab Ground "outdoor area" ^^
Putting things together
wrong sizes,I had no idea how to do the part behind the ear.
I didn't discover the error until after printing
Small Frame Size.
The difference in sizes is obvious.
Too Messy.
Wrong direction For arm. Wrong nail hole location.
Insted of 45 mm
For the nail hole
which is to large
I noticed it after printing
Fully defined scketch
الحمد لله I had "BASANT" as a fab specialist
She calmed me down without realizing that الله يحفظها
The height of the screw place is large
I came up with this idea ^^
that putting them together, I love it and it makes sense to me :)
used two cut Parts
I took advantage of a large screw place to fix the second small frame without any glue.
He cheers me up
I like to play chess
Buying my own pieces
tried to buy valuable pieces, but the price is like gold
I think I'll design my own one :)
أبي ومعلمي الأول ^^

*How to get the right measurements
*Search for any challenges I Faced
