Our task for this week is how to research and how to work with the fab machines (laser-cutter, 3d printer ) to produce a finished product

first of all, I have searched the web to find a proper design but I didn't find a satisfying design to fabricate then I settled on doing my own design, it's simple and carries my Instagram account.

First, I downloaded the file (dxf) from (3axis.co).

in this assignment, we will use the Ultimate Cura software to prepare the G-code file that will be exported to the 3d printer Prusa to print the file we already downloaded before.
first, change the orientation of the design and scale it down to fit the time we have and do fine printing, second, check the support and adhesion and this design doesn't need any of them.
The material will be PLA.

print settings:
1- The layer height will be 0.3
2- The infill will be 100%
3- No supports are needed
4- No adhesion is needed
The material will be PLA.

Using Rd-works, I imported the dxf files and arranged them near each other to save as much space as possible. I changed the speed to 10 and the power to 60 to cut the design, then saved the file (SavetoUFile) and was ready to put it in the laser cutter.

A simple introduction (how to deal with the printer while it's working)
the printer making the Adhesion and supports
I ran into many problems, and my colleagues helped me solve them.
such as researching (Merit gave me some references for my laser cut assignment).
Farida assisted me in operating the laser cutting machine and explaining how it works after learning about its design and operation.
and dealing with RD-works (Hussin and Mai helped me figure out the cut and speed limits for my key chain).
And for the 3D print assignment, Ahmad, an ex-maker, assisted me in understanding how the printer worked and demonstrated how we could clean the nozzle.
Thanks, Merit, Hussein, Farida, Mai, and Ahmad.
I got stuck when I was dealing with the laser cut machine. I was excited to go, but I found the process is not that simple. I was afraid of the machine not reading the QR code, but I told myself to wait and seek help from others to decrease the waste and damage, and finally, we produced it on the machine successfully.
dangggger
When we came to the 3D printing assignment, we faced other problems. The 3D printer kept failing, and we couldn't find the reason. Then Ahmad told me afterward that the part that is responsible for printing was damaged, and they changed it with another one, but the part didn't work as it should because it was not the original part, so they changed it again. The main problem was the filament kept sticking to the nozzle, so the nozzle after many fabricates gets dirty and filled with melted filament.
waste
I learned how to cut wood on the laser cutter, and I intend to use this to make my model for the gun game.
I learned how to deal with different materials and I intend to mix those materials together for my final project.
The laser cutter can scan photos and deal with them with no effort.
It was magical to see the 3D printer working and understand how it works.
There are other materials we can use on the laser cut machine, like metal, acrylic, and glass!!
There are different types of filament that can be used on the 3D printer, like (Ebs).
Title of Media
During this week, I participated in a workshop provided by 412 labs.
It was in Medrar for contemporary art and it was an Augmented Reality lecture organized specially for Naema's Office is Bleeding exhibition workshop participants (workshop for collage art that I had previously attended).
They gave us some insight into the AR art implementation.
During the lecture, Unity software and the necessary packages for creating AR works were introduced. The main objective of this lecture is to add more dimensions and potential to our art practices, For Naema's Office is Bleeding exhibition and how we can convert some of the exhibited artworks into the AR medium.
