My Very First Creations
The Idea was to test and get familiar with LaserCut and 3D Printing Softwares and Machines. Along with Exploring Opensource Libraries like Thingiverse.com , 3axis.co
For LaserCut Design
Used laserCad to handle opening the Downloaded DXF file
And Malky Laser machine to LaserCut the Design
I used Ultimaker Cura Software to handle Slicing my opensource downloaded file
And Prusa i3 Mk3 Machine to Print my Design
I started with opening the downloaded .dxf file using laserwork Software
Then moved the design to the Origin point of Sketch
3. Next edited the Layer parameters so it can fit the lasercut machine to the Following: Speed: 5.00 , Laser max power: 95 , laser min power: 90
4. Then from the Top Left menu I selected Save as and Saved my File as .rld
For 3d Printing
Started with downloading the opensource design from Thingiverse.com.
Then I opened the file using Ultimaker Cura.
I edited the Print settings menu to the perfect fit with the design considering Profile, Infill & Support.
Scroll The Images to Check the Steps
Started with sending the .rld File to the Computer connected with laserCutter
Then I Opened the File using laserWork Software
Next I handled sending file to machine using Download Button
Lasercut In Action
Started with sending the .gcode file to the SD Card to connect it to Machine.
As I wanted to print my design using Black filament I had to unload the preloaded white filament and reload the Black filament then.
Then I started Printing my Object and Enjoying the magic happen.
3d Printing In Action
Failed attempt
The First design I picked from 3axis.com was a design for an elephant Face. But once I started Using the machine to laserCut it, the cutting process didn't go right.
After asking the lab instructor Ahmed Shelbaya, He figured out that the problem was in the downloaded file itself and suggested to change it.
During Saving the .rld file for the LaserCut design,
I got confused and tried to save it from the Export menu and couldn't Find the .rld option in the save as type.
I handled the problem by exploring the Software more and found the right step is to the save the file from Save as menu

Ultimaker Cura
For this week's assignment I gained the knowledge of how to search for opensource files from the web. And now I can search easily for part or components needed for my final project.
After learning basics in 3D printing and LaserCut, I can now Conquer easily the maker movement with more knowledge.
