This week's assignment was to design and fabricate our very own mobile phone holder. The design should be done on Fusion 360 and the fabrication using the Laser Cutter.
I don't have a Maker background especially in 2.5D and T slot , so i took my reference from the Kit that we had done in first session , i take the back and base to create my mobile holder
software : autodesk fusion 3060
and Laser work
machine : laser cutter
materials : plywood

Starting with sketching on Fusion and going through several trials and errors until I got the measurements correct. The assembly feature in Fusion helped me a lot with visualising the final outcome and adjusting the correct measurements for each part. After everything fit together properly and the proportions were okay, I exported each sketch as a DXF file to import it in Rdworks.
I drew the mobile holder in two parts base and back and put the T slot
Extrude the back outside for 3mm
Extrude the base outside 3mm
joint them together
ready to put in laser work
After arriving at the ACC fablab, I started opening my files and double-checking that everything is good to go. I started the Laser Cutter and put my file on the flash drive. I then put the flash drive in the Laser Cutter, adjusted the origin and the focus, checked my work time, and started cutting.

For someone who sketches a 3d object and even use drawing apps for the first time it was very hard for me to remember all the tools and remember what tool I should use to do the thing I want.
I used google search, YouTube and videos from week 3 sessions since I believe in try and error approach to learn.
I managed to finish the sketch after some trial and after deleting and a lot of CTRL Z
finally this is
