We started this week with a small activity, creating a pen holder, and this was a prelude to this week's assignment.
so i used google as a source of inspiration.
DESIGN
my base was a polygon with 6 sides to make sure the model will be stable
then I made an offset for my base plane
and made a projection for my base on the new plane to get an new polygon
using the loft tool I attached the two profiles
I used Cura to slice the model and make it ready for printing,
My settings were:
Profile: 0.3
infill: 20%
It'll take around 62 minutes to print and uses 15 gms of PLA.
I was having a problem making this shape but Migo helped me a lot
After the session, I searched for the tutorial and start to make the design again and I had already done it
I learned how to draw a cone on top of the shape by sketching a triangle
After sketching the triangle, i used revolve tool to turn it to cone shape
To make the model like the real one i sketched a polygon on the base
And extruded it as a cut
And here its my pencil
And here is the tutorial
3d printed gears
I learned a lot this week about design and 3D printing, and this will help me a lot in designing some of the parts that I will need in the final project such as gears
the coolest thing was to 3D sketch on fusion with the dimensions because my background in engineering drawing is not the best
