International Program (IP) Outstanding Components
Samakkhiwitthayakhom School, Chaing Rai
1. All subjects will be led by native and foreign teachers, excluding Thai language, Thai music and drama.
2. Focusing on active learning and integrative teaching.
3. Intending to follow the Cambridge curriculum.
4. Only 25 students in one class.
5. There will be teacher assistants, who have graduated in English or an International Program, to communicate and explain the lesson content for students. In addition, they will be coordinators.
6. There will be Thai teachers from the normal program to examine the accuracy and scope of subject content.
7. Students will study a third language beside Thai and English e.g. Chinese, Japanese etc.
8. Students will attend international club activities i.e. golf, cardio, chorus band etc.
9. A Community Survey Camp, Summer Camp, ASEAN Leadership Development Camp, and Community Service will be carried out under the cooperation of lower and upper secondary school students.
10. There will be International Camps with special expenses:
1st year (M.1 and M.4) Camp setting in Thailand (3 – 5 days)
2nd year (M.2 and M.5) Camp setting in Europe and Oceania (1 month)
3rd year (M.3 and M.6) Camp setting in Asia (1 week)
11. The program will follow the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) curriculum of B.E. 2551, together with the Cambridge printing company.
12. There will be an annual international test, carried out by the international institute. An International Proficiency Test on each subject will be taken.
13. Extra class will be provided to fulfill M.1 content.
14. Multimedia software for English learning will be applied.
15. Qualified Grade 6 students could enroll for the entrance exam since they can choose to be examined Thai or English, excluding Thai language subject.
16. Since Chiang Rai has been earmarked as a special economic zone for joining the ASEAN Economic Community and be involved with AEC, the curriculum will add acknowledged learners in international investment, logistics, and multi-cultures.
