Daniel Shrubb is the co-owner of Salus School Safety Solutions and a retired Police Sergeant with more than 26 years of service with the Oxnard Police Department.
Daniel began his law enforcement career in 1997 and served in a wide range of assignments, including Field Training Officer, Academy Tac Officer, SWAT, Youth Services Sergeant, Honor Guard, Beat Coordinator, Patrol Sergeant, and Traffic Unit Supervisor. He concluded his career as the Training Sergeant for the department’s Professional Standards Division, overseeing officer development and compliance.
Of all his assignments, Daniel found his role as School Resource Officer Sergeant to be the most personally rewarding. In this position, he worked directly with students, educators, and school administrators across Oxnard to promote campus safety, mentor youth, and build positive relationships between law enforcement and the school community. His leadership in this area continues to influence his work with Salus today.
Daniel has been recognized for his service and leadership with the Chief’s Award of Excellence in 2013 and the Supervisor of the Year award in 2021.
He is also the co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), a nationally recognized youth automotive mentorship program. Since 2011, Daniel has helped hundreds of students explore career opportunities and life skills through hands-on learning and positive engagement.
Now retired from policing, Daniel remains committed to school and community safety. Through Salus, he leads student programs, staff development, and safety planning efforts throughout California.
