SHS Media Center

Welcome to the SHS Media Center:

The Sallisaw High School Library Media Center offers students and faculty an atmosphere conducive to learning. Space and resources are available to conduct research, collectively or independently work on class projects, to read for personal enjoyment, and to participate in educational activities.

The Library Media Center is organized by sections: Biography, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Reference, and four genre-specific sections (Dystopian Novels, Graphic Novels, Horror/Thrillers, and Sports). The library is working on a long-term plan to divide the Fiction section into more genres. Non-fiction is organized by Dewey Decimal, a cataloging system used by many academic libraries. There is a sign in the library that directs on how to find material in the non-fiction section. The seating area to the right of the circulation desk is surrounded by the classroom-set novels that are used by English teachers.

To see which books are available for check-out, please visit the "Student Page" tab and find the Library Catalog Search link. To locate additional resources, visit the "Media Center Resources" tab. Announcments and Newsletters will be posted in "News and Announcements."
