About Me

My name is Mrs. Ackerman.  I am a First Grade teacher at Salisbury Elementary School.  

My high school alma mater is Governor Mifflin, which is located in Berks County. In 2007, I  graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I have my Master's Degree in Education- Reading Specialist from PennWest University.

This is my first year teaching first grade and 6th year teaching in the Salisbury Township School District. This is my 16th year teaching.  I have experience teaching kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th-grade classrooms, along with teaching K-4 reading intervention.

My husband and I enjoy spending time with our dog, Ranger.  We spend a lot of time together in the yard, especially during the warmer months. Sometimes our cat, Asher, joins us on the patio too. Also, I enjoy watching movies, taking walks, and playing tennis. My absolute favorite thing to do is to read!  Historical fiction tends to be my go-to genre.
