During the summer of 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time at Goodman Millwork. Throughout this experience, I learned the fundamentals of carpentry and gained hands-on experience operating a complex CNC machine. I was actively supervised and supported by nearly every member and leader at Goodman Millwork, which greatly enhanced my understanding of the trade. I was always encouraged to ask questions whenever I encountered challenges, and I’m deeply grateful to the leadership at Goodman Millwork for guiding me through the ropes of such an amazing craft.

From this experience, I learned how to operate many different types of tools and complex machines, as well as the reasons behind using certain tools over others—whether due to their quality, efficiency, or suitability for a specific application.

As a result of my work, I have gained valuable lessons through this incredible experience. I have gained a deeper understanding of how to properly and safely operate various power tools, as well as developed essential skills that will benefit me in the future.
